You Are Precious

Believe it or not, no one else is just like you. Your physical appearance, your personality, your habits, your voice, your intelligence. All of these things make you one of a kind. You are unique.

The Bible says, "I will praise Thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made." (Psalm 39:14). God knew you even before you were born. You are precious. In the beginning God created all things. He inspected His creation and found that everything He created was very good (Genesis 1:31). However, sin entered into the perfect creation and brought forth corruption and death (Genesis 3:19).

Jesus Christ, the anointed and chosen one came into the world to become the sacrificial lamb of God to bear the curse of mankind upon Himself. His body was broken instead of ours (1 Corinthians 11:24). His blood was shed instead of ours (Mathew 26:28). His spirit suffered rejection instead of ours (Mathew 27:46). His soul was exceedingly sorrowful instead of ours (Mark 14:34).

In essence, the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ was for mankind: the body, soul, and spirit. If we don not accept the atonement we are guilty of diminishing the value of the sacrificial death of Christ.

The Psalmist says, "How precious are thy thoughts unto me, O God! How great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand." (Psalm 139:17). God feels our pain. He shares our sorrow. He cares and He considers each on of us important enough to love. He loves us so much that He gave His only Son to die for our sin. The Bible says, "Not that we loved God, but that He loved us." (1 John 4:10).

Because you and I are precious to God, He wants to forgive us and give us a full and meaningful life. Yes, you are valuable to God! If you have never trusted Jesus Christ for your salvation, you can accept His love for you today. "As many as receive Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name." (John 1:12).
